Speaking about her design choices Clephane said: "The interiors are modern, full of natural light with a comfortable flow of life in the layout and definitely fun to be in. The surfaces tend to be shiny; we have used high quality ceramic tiling in easy to accent neutral colours, which are practical and easy to keep clean." The interiors of the one, two and three-bedroom apartments have been designed to be as light as possible with lots of glass, shaded with partitions and Macrabia (traditional Omani shades) set around the balconies. The one-bedroom apartment has a harbour feel with bright crisp cottons, while the two-bedroom apartment is more contemporary with a deep red kitchen, a black 4-poster bed and deep red leather sofas on sand-coloured tiles. The three-bedroom apartment is more family-orientated with a lot of space inside and outside.

Interior designer Clephane was chosen to design the apartments given her experience of Omani culture, acquired over nine years of living in Muscat. Previous projects she has worked on include a suite of VIP offices in Queen Anne's Gate, London, as well as a number of commercial suites in Brunei.

The residential units for the development consist of villas, townhouses and apartments. The kitchens are being supplied and fitted by ALNO of Germany, with AEG electric appliances, while the bathrooms are being supplied by Jacuzzi UK. The three display villas that are currently being constructed will be designed by The Wave interior designer Dina Al Zadjali.

After completion The Wave will consist of 4000 residential units in a mix of Arabic and contemporary architecture, a signature 18-hole green golf course designed by Greg Norman, a 300-berth marina, four luxury hotels, as well as retail and restaurant outlets.

Meanwhile, The Wave Muscat has won a CNBC Arabian Property Award in the category of Best Apartment Design. "This is a special honour for The Wave, since our work is being recognised at an international level, an accolade given our relatively short history," said HE Abdulla Bin Abbas Ahmed, chairman of Muscat Municipality and chairman of The Wave.
